what is this

That is a longear sunfish (L. megalotis) and for the record...."Bream" is a word that should never be used to ID fish.....what species is "bream"??????

I dont think that it is a warmouth, i have one in a 75 gal 10' from me. the mouth is to small, color on the body is wrong as well. When my warmouth gets real stressed it can range from dark purple to almost a camo pattern to a pale silver green, but the markings on your fish remind me more of a longear or pumpkin seed. the face markings are peculiar though.

it just looks nothing like my warmouth

that fish is strange looking,

It could be a warmouthXlongear or warmouthXpumpkinseed they are both possible and have been found in the wild...we need drew or arthur...

with the better pictures, I'd say that it's a hybrid. Warmouth would have a larger and slightly upturned mouth )when closed)

It is not a longear because the ear is not long enough... but could be a hybrid.

What also leads me to think that it is a hybrid is because of the eye. The eye is looks a little different from the eyes of any sunfish I've ever seen.

Still looks like a young warmouth to me, and yes they are found in WV
