What is up with Ornates!?!

I had the same problem, lost a 13". My son left the front glass just an inch or two open and out the big girl went. Didn't cacth it tell the next day. Suxs, because I have the tank airtight just for this reason. Gotta love kids.:irked:
Now the kids aren't allowed to touch the tank.
 
I can try to get some pics soon but no promise yet I'm doing major tank overhauls and moves here within the next few days or week so it's going to be busy and I might not have time. I will get pics sometime of the two of them.

They can as long as they are able to stay moist. In the wild, this would be aquatic plants along the bank of the river that would give them cover from drying out.
