So i have a new 30 gallon setup with a sweet filter, so i'm not to worried about that. What i'm concerned about is the types of fish and layout i have in the tank. So i will go through and explain what i have.

Fish:
Jack Dempsey CENTRAL AMERICAN aka NEW WORLD CICHLID
Male and Female Kenyi AFRICAN aka OLD WORLD CICHLIDS
Green terror SOUTH AMERICAN aka NEW WORLD CICHLID
Turquoise Severum SOUTH AMERICAN aka NEW WORLD CICHLID
Tbarb Convict CENTRAL AMERICAN aka NEW WORLD CICHLID
Electric Yellow AFRICAN aka OLD WORLD CICHLIDS
Small Red Crab

hope this helps, I dont know anything about red crabs so I havent put anything.

You don't want Africans with your Americans. The water needs are completely different and believe it or not but Africans will kill much bigger Americans because they communicate differently when they fight. (If you can understand what I mean)

So wrong on many different levels. My large Americans would see an African as a feeder. Two, unless your getting the fish from the wild water par. are not the problem. Most fish are farm raised so that idea in itself is wrong. It has to do with two things:
temperment and size.
BTW the OP is overstocked and the only Afr. that do mix well with American Cic. are the larger predatory Haps.
