What is your Acclimate Method?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ok..

you take an air line hose..
put 1 end in the bad and make a syphen
tie a know so it drips
and make it drip into a bucket with your fish

Just wondering... How long or how much do you let it drip for? When done with the drip method, do you dump both the water and the fish in the tank, or just scoop the fish and put into the tank??

Make sure that the bucket where the fish is in has plenty of aeration. If and when i do use the drip method, I usually allow one hour or so, depending on the type of fish, and how much water there is. Aeration is critical because without water movement, oxygen will get depleted quickly.

i usually let it drip for 30mins -1hr depending from where the fish has come from with 1 hr being totally out of my area.
i have let rays drip for well over 1 hour when i got them direct from peru.
if i get fish shipped i would not add fish and water to my tank as it may have a tranquiliser in it but if the fish is local and in a bag i would.
i use the drip method all the time even if i was getting fish from next door.
i also tie a knot.

I have never used the drip method.
I usually "try" to float the bag but i cnat wait 10 minutes! lol, after 5 seconds i put the fish and water in the tank, havent lost a fish from that yet!

if i were you guys; i would quarantine dA fish and then dump...

i mean drip method, not dump!

just tose 'em in you'll find the weakest link :j/k: no really acclimate them first..
