buy the pond Melafix it's 5% and the pond Pimafix it'e 2 1/2% they both cost a little more but you treat 5x more water with the Melafix and double with the Pimafix.

Do you have any pond melafix? Can you tell me, if the concentration that they suggest using in a pond is higher than what they suggest using in an aquarium?

I also though have read somewhere that these two products deplete the oxygen content in your water. So be careful with that.

These are natural tree oils. They have influence on the surface tension of the water, allowing bubbles to form much more easily. If you use it in a pond with a waterfall, you will see plenty of foam, the same if you have an tank filter that causes significant turbulence. Raise your water level to submerge the output. It would be possible for a bubbler to increase the amount of foam, but it will help the dissolved oxygen also.

well ive used both together if i see a fish with a scratch or wound, just so the wound doesnt get a secondary infection that turns bacterial or fungal-it seems to work. but once you get an infection, i always turn to broad spectrum antibiotics..

Yes quite a bit.

i use pimafix and/or salt for curing existing problems, and i use melafix to prevent infections when one of the fish is wounded for whatever reason.. like when the stoopid hybrid MRTC ate a plastic plant and it escaped his body by tearing holes in his belly (he is no longer allowed to be where plastic plants are.. lol).

no if you break it down it's the same, on the Pond Melafix it says to use 5ml per 50g of water while regular Melafix says 5ml for 10g.

I am using it currently to help cure some fins up (Melafix) And I was curious if it was a viable medication should I need it for its stated purposes later on? Anyone have good or bad experience with this product?

Thanks everyone ,
Tcarswell

We use both melafix and pimafix on sick fish and it has been great with helping them heal and look healthy and normal. One word of advice don't cut corner's treat exactly how they state and you should be good and your fish will be like :) which is a good thing.
