What is your Favorite Central American Cichlid??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Such a though question bro, lol. I'll stick with a tie between Midas and Trimac though, but there are so many great choices to pick from. All of these mentioned are great fish.

dovii here as well. Sure my male bites me but he means well.. My ex used to bite me and I still bought her stuff too so it's cool.. My RTM pair is a close second.

Ok you know Festae are not Centrals right? this is a central fav only:)

And same with EBJD's, they dont count. Im not even about to go into a discussion about EBJD's we all know where that will go, so for the sake of argument lets please leave them out of this one:)

 Yeh i know....I picked Dovii as my favourite, i can't help owning Festae

This thread is lacking pictures :D

Anyways my cubans have to be my favorite as of now but I don't think they count as central american cichlids sooo...

I would have to say my favorite were my pair of midas. Full of personality and mean as hell. They were a lot of fun. I just wish they got along as well as my cubans do.

Trimac ..Because it is a large heavy bodied cichlid. Love the green or yellow hue with the distinct spots on its sides. I prefer the males because they are much larger than the females i have seen, and they have longer more pointed fins and a large red spot behind there gills. They also are very owner responsive, begging for food and attention...

LOL i didnt say that you couldnt like them:) just that since there has been a long time debate on the ebjds and i dont want tis thread to turn into a discussion thread about whether or not they are naturally occuring or not lol so for the sake of argument i asked to leave them out of this thread

gotcha Ill stick with wild type jack dempsey
