There seems to a little confusion here over which genre that the op is referring to but my pick would be Boyz in the Hood.In my opinion it is still the best of them.
A few weeks ago I was sitting in the barbershop and a Jamaican drug gang movie was playing on the entertainment system.I had never heard of it before but the acting and dialogue was well enough and I enjoyed what I saw of it.

No,I saw Shottas before but this one seems to be more recent and it mostly took place in New York.Shottas was pretty good.
