What is your favorite native, and why?

I am curious what everyone's favorite native is, and why.

I would start, but since I don't actually have any yet, I don't know how much good I would be. Though I do know I plan on starting my tank with LA Longears. They are gorgeous

dragon goby (looks sweet), bowfin (they're mean as hell), or some type of gar (now they're just plain cool)

Warmouths-Always watching the owners, super stealth mode with swallowing prey and snatching food from other fish. My warmouths are pretty peaceful. My first warmouth years ago scared all the fish in the tank. Even though it did nothing to them. Also like having a mini-bass always in cruise control. Other fish swim frantically towards you for food. Warmouths cruise to you, barely making any movement. The warmouth will see you first, then you will see it.

Green Sunfish- Fiery demeanor, similar to the warmouth in snatching food. Hit and run fish.

All of the Esox, they are simply too awesome when feeding, lightning fast and ridiculously precise. Not to mention after a while they really do start to respond to whomever is feeding them.

I liked my bullhead a lot because he would always watch me when I walked by the tank. He was neat to watch at night and he reminded me of a shark for some reason lol.. I like largemouth bass too, fun to watch them eat and I think they're purty

I think Green Sunfish have the most personality.

I love my Bluegills and my Madtom, but a Bowfin would make my decade (at least)

Northern Pike or Largemouth Bass. Both are amazing predators.

Large Mouth Bass easily. Got a sleek body and inhales anything!
