I want to know what everyone's pH is in their cichla tanks! Please post pics of your fish along with your pH reading, so we can see what your cichla's color is like!

Mines in between 6-7, havent checked in a while though..

I've never tested my water, but if history holds true, my pH usually hovers between 6.8-7.0 out of the tap. I've got a fair amount of driftwood, so I'd estimate my pH somewhere around 6.7. Honestly, its not something you need to stress about, just avoid extremes.

pH doesn't really matter. What you should look into is KH. If your KH is less than 3 degrees, then you need to increase it to avoid pH fluctuations. Calcium chloride or sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) will correct it. Stick with baking soda as it is cheaper.

I agree again with Lupin again! :headbang2You go Lupin! I keep my Ph at 6.3 -6.5. I also use Baking soda and a few other thing's to mimic Amzon water's. Of course I can't tell you that reciepie but it's not hard to figure out.

7.5 last time I checked. I think I need to check again, lol.
