i don't know if there rare or not but i have a Ornate Bichir i got for $22 at an auction and 5 synodontis petricola. the petricola sell for $90 at my LFS but i bought 7 of them for $30 and traded two for two yellow libidos. very cool fish wether they are rare or not.

rare is not always a good thing. it usually means they are either illegal, not hardy pets, and usually not good pets lol.
