What is Your Tank Ideal Temperature?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That sucks, with a fluctuation like that, you need the heaters. I have Bichirs, and have had Loaches and Angels, all in the upper 70's and they did, and do fine. Don't worry about it, it won't be a problem.

I keep my tank at about 81. The fish all seem fine. Clowns like it nice and warm.

In the 380 gallons of actual water in my system, I keep the temp at 78deg with little to no fluctuation. During a 25% water change I might see 2 deg change.
I run three, 400w heaters in the sump.

Large volume = stability.

I like to keep my tanks between 80-82 but I've been having trouble stabilizing my two smaller tanks with the weather fluctuations and even in those tanks the fish are doing okay I hope spring hurrys up and turns to summer soon a stalbe 79 should be fine

What brand heaters do you have? LoL I have two 400watt Hydor heaters in my 300gal. I think one of them is sticking or going bad though, cuz my tank was up to around 86-88 degrees. I unplugged both though and the temp is now at a constant 80 - 82 degrees. Gotta love the south.....

With the mix you have, I'd keep it at 80 -82. I've bred angels and find they do better in 80. Clown loaches like it warm, 80 or higher.

I run all my tanks at 82 degrees farenheit.
