That’s exactly what it looked like coming out of mine! I didn’t care to take pictures while scrambling though. Glad you recovered as well as I did!

After months of preparations I cracked my 6x3-10 mins before adding fish

I had the tank 2/3 full and the water was quite cool by the time I had finished the plumbing. Once I finished the plumbing I tried to leak test the overflow box. But the hose bib I was using came straight from the hot water line. I assume the previous owners of our house had a hot tub that they would fill with this line. And the difference in temperature caused the panel to crack.

when I realized what had happened I grabbed a hose and a couple beers. Started emptying the tank. This is when I found out the drain in my garage can only handle so much before backing up. As I was standing there watching it empty, my wife said “is it safe to stand here?” I said probably not, and just then the crack spread all the way across the panel right before our eyes.

Mine is when I bought a cheap sump from a bad company it broke 3 weeks after being setup ruined my floors thank God I was home at the time and was able to shut the valves off so the tank did not drain and left the pump on to get what I could out of the sump. I never buy the cheap thing don't know why I did this time definitely screwed me.

Guess what they are closed. They would not give me anything cost me over $6000 and the floor that it ruined I just move in to the house and put it down maybe 6 weeks before. Did I mention before The sump was ONLY 3 WEEKS OLD.

Mine is completely my fault - I was a resident surgeon and had been on call the entire weekend and decided to do water changes when I got off - I lived in Manhattan on the 17th floor in a shoebox sized studio with a 150, 135, 65 and 72 bow front .

I was in the midst of a water change when I passed out and woke up to 6 inches of water on the floor and immediately freaked out . I used a pile of dirty scrubs and every towel or absorbent article of cloth that I had to attempt to mop-up the mess.

after I had got the majority of it up , I got a knock on the door from security and asked if everything was alright as there had been a leak that had gone down 3 floors.

I profusely apologized and told them I had accidentally over filled the “bath tub”. As a side note, there no fish tanks allowed in the apartment. I kept expecting to get an eviction notice over the next month, but It it never came somehow.

I flooded my apartment more times than I can count on two hands from the ATO. The worst was when I fell asleep and woke up the next morning and the tank was likely full for 12 hours. About 50 gallons on the floor. Another memorable one was when I turned the ATO on thinking the line was in the tank then checking to see how full it is after 2 hours only to see it wasn’t in the tank to begin with.

During a water change I had a return line pop off the pump I used to fill the tank and shot maybe 5 gallons of saltwater at the roof.

I passed out during a water change due to being overly tired and me being on my comfy fish tank viewing chair. Woke up to the beautiful sound of a waterfall.

after just finishing 3 perfect seams on an 8x3 acrylic tank I accidentally dropped it cracking the front and both side panels.

after just finishing the 4th seam to a 4x4x2 acrylic tank, my puppy knocked over an acrylic panel leaned up against the wall which fell directly on the tank putting a hairline crack along the panel.

My puppy decided to snack on a hand sized monti cap coral only to throw it up in the middle of the carpet 5 minutes later.

I’m sure there’s more.

Holy $hit!!! I have walked away and overflowed some tanks but not for long. I had a 40b start leaking late one night but luckily i caught it, Wasn't super excited about draining it and move all the fish around though, Would have been to really fun to wake up and find 40g leaking from 2nd floor on down. I also had a 55 pop the center brace and bow out a ton but no spilt water.

There was a pinhole in my siphon pipe. I was finished filling up the tank and shut it off from the tank end. Then the water started shooting out. Not that bad next to everyone else, but a pain nonetheless.
I’ve also gotten palytoxin poisoned once or twice.
