You are joking, aren't you? I'll be 64 in January. Last Friday I waked surfed a couple of miles behind the boat in two runs. Finally quit because I had gone so long, and it was the courteous thing to do. Had to make sure my guests had as much water time as they wanted. Shucks, there wasn't enough time for me to wakeboard--my nonvegan guests were worn out and sunburned, so we had to quit. :(

I don't agree with knife but I don't agree with you either. You simply watch what you eat and probably get exercise, I doubt the other people did, hence they were exhausted due to need being as healthy, *not* because they ate meat.

I do not actively promote vegan/vegetarianism. To each his own. My post was merely a defensive post, since nearly everyone on this thread is bashing vegetarian/vegan lifestyles. I shouldn't have made the "nonvegan" comment. I apologize. I was being snide and shouldn't have. An active lifestyle and more sunblock would have allowed us to be on the water longer--it had nothing to do with diet. I just threw that comment in and shouldn't have.

My family became lacto-ovo vegetarians 58 years ago. When I was growing up, we never ate out. There were no food options available to us. Times have really changed, and many resturants have vegan options on their menus now. In some levels of society, veganism/vegetarianism is almost an in thing, and being vegan is not even considered weird anymore.

Scott Jurek is one of America's premier ultramarathoners. His book has a lot of vegan recipes.

Non meant eaters like pacu mom and my sister in law are under fire due to Animal Rights activists like the op wanting to cram their world view down your throat. No most of them are the live and let live sort but since you don't see them you assume that they are not there. Most of the vegans I've met are more about being a self absorbed and self righteous nuisance than any real concern for animals.Ingrid Newkerk using porcine insulin springs to mind.

Anyone posting videos from far left activist groups is just as dishonest as the idiot bimbo that pushed through the law that made tapping bad/illegal animal husbandry protocols a felony.

This thread attacks the choice of meat eating. Whatever response the op received is of his/her own doing.

Unfortunately the most ignorant individuals of any minority tend to be the loudest and most attention seeking. That leads people to only notice those individuals, and draw their conclusions about said minority from those few individuals.

You were just standing up for yourself, it's understandable.

Whoa, you just blew my mind... I've never heard a truer statement.

Also research the cases of individuals who have ran into serious medical problems after trying a vegan diet without doing the proper research. It all depends on you getting the essential vitamins and nutrition you need to function given your age, body type, and activity level. Watch what you eat, and you're going to be healthier, regardless of eating meat or nothing but veggies. To each their own. I greatly enjoy bacon, and I'll be damned if someone tries to take that away from me.
