This is just a common tiger oscar. Astronotus Ocellatus.
 
well i know for sure he is wild caught.

yeah def not tiger oscar its def at least wild type if not wild caught but OP said he was sure its wild caught, but as for OPs question i dont think there is a sure way of knowing the location variant of yours unless you got that info straight from the store/supplier

Yeah, it really is, a wild caught tiger oscar.

I will probably have to wait till its older because i have seen the exact same coloration(black & white) on oscars at my lfs and they weren't wild caught.

i thought tiger oscars were a line bred strain only in captivity, there are wild tigers?

Jeff Rapps at tangledupincichlids.com has them from time to time. Pretty much everything he ships is top notch. Shipping can be high if you live far from NJ.
