What kind of aggressive fish has a good personality??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The biggest thing that you can stick in that 40g that has a lil personality is a lone female GT , an Acara or if you want aggressive breeding a pair of Convicts . And guyz talkin about peacock bass or any kinda Ray , the guy has a 40 gallon tank , they would outgrow that tank ... and certainly a big NO to Arowanas

Predator and aggressive are totally different things. My gars are totally peaceful with anything that doesn't fit down their throat. But I've had little texas kill fish much bigger than them. Go with a small colorful cichlid in a 40g. You can't put many predators in a tank that small anyway, especially of its a 40g tall like they have at petsmart.

If I was going to have one aggressive fish in a 40 it would be a gulper cat. NOTHING can eat like one. It would eat pirahnas. AND want more. Pretty sure it would eat a kitten or puppy.

I'm a fan of that!

I've heard of people keeping one solo in a 40 breeder, not sure how comfortable one would be in a 40 long.

Honestly I would plan to make an upgrade, from the sound of it you want a glass banger. I'd say a 40 breeder or a 75 is a good place to start.

If you plan on keeping the 40 long, this: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?227845-The-End-All-Mini-Monster-Thread is a good place to start.

Yeah just don't be the CL kid that has a 18" Alligator Gar in a 40 gallon
