i got it tested at my lfs
LOL what did they do? please dont tell me they used the co2 chart, measuring ph and kh? that is the most inaccurate way of measuring co2. the cheapest and most effective way is to get a drop checker and fill it with 4dkh solution. this will cost you about $15 and you can always know your co2 levels just by looking in your tank.

if youve never heard of a drop checker, do a quick google search. this is a must-have item in a co2-injected planted tank :)

Thanks jcardona!
I have been wondering about "drop checkers' but no one has ever called them that, so I never knew that there is a fixture that can be put in the aqarium to constantly monitor the CO2 levels. I have heard it is the best way to test, but I couldn't find any info because every one just said "check with a 4dkh solution" , which means nothing to someone who doesn't know how the WHOLE process works. I have always been using BPS as a reference point (which REALLY isn't inidicative of ppm).

Just saying the term "drop checker" and "google it" has help tremendously. I now understand how they work and how to get one. Just ordered it. Thanks a bunch!

 glad i could help, this can be pretty mysterious the first time around. just be sure to use lab-prepared 4dkh solution for the most accurate results. and change the solution in the drop checker every 2-3 weeks or so :)
