it is a lei...ive heard that leis get their barbels pretty late in life compared to the other species.
jardini and asians are the only ones that can be confused with a lei.
and jardinis and asians both get barbels much earlier than leis.
also,the head shape says lei.

Right definetly not African. I don't know if it is lei or jar but it is one of the two. The barbels could be missing as a result of improper handling by a LFS employee or supplier.
