I have what i was told was a spotted that i am beginning to think is a snail, i believe that the ranges overlap, you are in FL right?

These are Native American cold water fish, there are several very knowledgeable people who frequent this specific forum, i would think that this is the most likely place to get an ID. Also these fish are very rare in the hobby, though not exactly rare in there native ranges.

I agree with Hmt, this is the better forum for native catfishes. The guys in the Catfish forum deal with tropical catfish more so then natives. I also think it is a snail or spotted.

i would say yes the first and last pictures look like a spotted, while the two others look like browns, but not 100% sure, count the anal rays that will tell you if it is a brown or spotted
