Well I messed around with the camera but the pictures sucked either way. I just need a better camera. Plus it doesnt have ISO 800.

Cranking up the ISO speed should be you absolute last resort. It results in grainy photos like the ones you posted earlier.

About that "flash spot" you mentioned, there really is no way to get rid of that unless you use an SLR with a portable flash (separate from the camera). If you're using a point and shoot with a flash fixed to the camera, it will always reflect back and get in your picture.
