Slightly off topic but i'v just trained my 2 inch juvi's on hikari cichlid gold floating, only took a day of not feeding them bloodworm and its excellent for boosting colour :) wouldn't get the pictus tho, if the bass eats 1 there is a big risk of there barbed pectorals getting stuck somewhere.

That's another issue I would be worried about as well... Basically I'm looking for something to clean the bottom it doesn't necessarily have to be a catfish either. Any other good tank mates that eat scraped massivore right off the bottom that will live in piece with my bass from there 3 inch stage to adult? Lol

I would say CL too, but a few more than a couple. The bigger the group the more natural the behaviour, so a min 6 would work well IMO.

I'm torn between a few CL or a few geos... I also have a bit if a bully problem so I'm trying to kill two birds with one stone ya know

Wow that catfish looks awesome!

I do not feed my pbass massivore, they wont eat anything that sinks. From day 1 I have promoted top water feeding to help move them to pellets off live and since then they like everything at the top of the water. It makes feeding them a blast because they're always hitting the water and exploding. I keep a towel next to the tank for cleaning it up afterwards lol

haha Mine have been on BW for the past month when I got them so they are used to sinking food. I just have a bully that hogs everything on the bottom lol. Otherwise they all would eat it!
