What kind of Catfish can go in a 55?

why dont you look it up on google? look at the types of different catfish and determine which ones would not quickly outgrow the tank then come here with specific ones you might like and then people can give you better advice. we are not your librarians.

"Platysilurus Mucosus" and/or "Hassar Orestis" may work.

As for the OP question: almost any cat that maxes out at 6" TL will work for your 55 gal. As our colleagues have said - way way too many to list. Filter Cat-eLog on PlanetCatfish by size and weed out those you cannot get a hold of or afford. Then there will be some clarity.

Platystomatichthys sturio just as Aguarunichthys Torosus grows to 1.5' TL and standard 55 gal is 4'x1'. I am a proponent of the 4xL by 2xL minimal footprint.
