What kind of catfish is this??

it will work untill he hit 18" then you will need a 150 to 220 that will work till it hits about 24 to 26 inches from there you are going to need a pond and depending on how you feed dpends on how fast it will grow i feed mine twice a week and that help them grow alot slower so as long as you dont power feed the snot out of him he will grow about 2-3 inches a mounth
 
Wel i dont mind dishing out cash to feed predators. Its just this kitty is stayin in his tank cuz my parents wont allow me to have a bigger aquarium in their housr lol

So just a side note to everybody whos been posting. I went back to the pet shop i biught this catfish at and apparently the fish is almost 2 years old and its about 9-10' long at best. They said it was a runt that was kept in a 30g tank at the store so basically this things growth has been stunted. Is it possibld though the fish can still hit its max size at this point? Cuz if so ill just return it or trade it away

Never believe what a store says. I was told that I bought a stores "runt" Clownknife and that he wouldn't grow anymore. He was 8" when I bought him. Within a year he was 16" and was in a friends indoor koi pond and still growing like a weed. Just return the fish. Google rtc x tsn hybrids. They easily can hit 3' and They are not a fish to get If you don't already have a 1000 gallon+ tank ready. Look up the growth threads on them, I can't remember which one but I followed one where the fish went from 2" to 3' in 2 years.

You can try to return it or just keep it and feed him once a week with a "snack" in the middle of the week. I have a 13" RTC, he was 4" when I bought him and had him in a 55, within 5 months he's tripled in size, I used to feed him feeders just for the thrill then realized potential diseases because I used to have oscars and only pellet fed, so I stopped and now feed him smelt, tilapia, beef heart, chicken liver, occasional piece of lunch meat or hot dog, I've fed him venison which they love. 2 months ago I got him a 125g hoping he can Atleast get through the next year so I can get a new house instead of apt and build a 2250 gallon indoor pond. I have baby rtcs, tsns, and hybrids growing that are being power fed to go in the pond as well without a problem!
