no wonder walmart would bring in a fish you need to convert to salt so it dies and they comeback and buy another fish for all we know some family could of picked up one of these along with a fish bowl. sad

I don't believe there is a conspiracy/shady sale practice like that. May be a little bit/some, may be here and there, but mostly everyone does it for a different and obvious reason. This is another one of the by far and large most common cats stocked by almost every LFS including chains. This is driven by Mister Dollar and general public ignorance, just as, sadly, most things in this world... supply and demand. They WILL ALWAYS sell that which sells. It is a free marketplace for you. If it's legal and people buy it, they will sell and must sell it to survive the fierce competition.

Same arguments go for TSNs, RTC, ARTCs, wyckiies, IDSs, paroons, channels, most silver aros, giant gouramies, large Doradiidae, etc. etc. etc. that should not be (freely or rather freevolously) sold if speaking humanely...

... they are all of the "1,000,000-to-1 sold to suffer and die prematurely and the lucky ones die quick and easy" kind. Hair-raising if one thinks about it, but true.
