what kind of Catfish is this?

yeah it looks like some kind of color morph of a channel catfish but it does kind of look like a pangasius species
wow that is freakin weird! It can't be anything pangasius, it has long barbels (I don't think there are any pangs with long barbels). My first impression was channel cat I don't think its a channel cat...channel cats are more elongated, at that size ussually have spots, and (the clincher) channel cats have small barbels on the tops of thier heads in front of thier eyes....
So I can't tell you what it is...just what its not...basically I'm useless...

that one has the longer barbels. Whatever it is, it's a strange color that I've never seen before, almost like it's half albino (or some other color morph, not up on all of that, didn't read oddball's thread

but IMO it looks more like a pang of some sort than a channel of some sort. Have they been breeding them, that would make for an interesting hybrid, it sure is a beautiful fish, where did you find the pic?

it reminded me of my IDs then when I looked at it more, I wasnt sure. I dont know where I found it, I think I typed in lace catfish on a google pic search and it was there. The site didnt say anything except they brought it to some aquarium
I just went through them all on planet catfish, IMO if it's a pang it's the one I posted, that is the closest I could find to your pic, but with them being different colors and all, it's really hard to tell. Maybe oddball will stop by and educate us all on what kind of color morph this is...
Yeah I figured it was a color morph thing, sence they donated it to some aquarium, but thats all it said about it. Its pretty neat looking though. I know if I cought that Id keep it
