What kind of Chiclid is this?

Did u buy it from a group of fish and only bought one? there is a small chance it might lose some red color. but i will tell u this i had a 2" one in my 125g with 8" oscar 7" flowerhorn and other large agressives and he held his ground like a champ. never ever got even close to nipped. watch for aggression especially breeding pairs if u get in the future.
I got it by it self it its own tank... but shes in with a lot of other species and its a champ... cant wait for it to grow up... the lady at the lps told me it was a south American... so its in with all of those...

Put one of these in my tank-was kind of small at the time compared to the others. Had a breeding pair of convicts that were kicking the **** out of everyone. One night I watched the convict chase the jewel across the tank for the third time. Halfway across, the jewel stopped, turned around, and commenced to kicking the convicts ass all the way back to his hole. The jewel sat outside his hole for like a half hour waiting for him to come out. After that the jewel was left alone.
