^ Personally speaking, i think that cray looks too orange to be a marble cray, plus the markings don't look like my marble... if i were to guess i would say its possibly one of the more common species, although not sure which???

Thanks for the input, guys.

I don't think it's a Marble. Pics Iv'e looked at look different. The LFS owner said it is a Yabby. We all know LFSs aren't always right though. If it is a Yabby, I'd like to know what species.

Its a Yabbie/Red claw Aussie crayfish. Can tell from shape of body, claw and the colour markings on the side shellI have tons of these lil guys, although some can get to 8"+. Colours can vary from blue to red/brown to like yours although blue is the norm. If you happen to have a male n female together they will breed hundreds of baby crays each month.

Looks like a female as dont see the orange marking on outer claw and also claws look small for a male :)

Thanks for the input. Finally, an ID!

I was hoping to get a male. It was one of the bigger ones in the tank, and the claws looked beefier compared to the others.

i agree with sick08 that its a aussie yabbie good luck on the crayfish!

Another question - Do males have that red on the outer part of the claw when they are younger, or do they develop the red as they grow?
