If tilapia are legal in your area, you can try breeding them. Their fry hatch at a comparatively large size and grow quickly. They're mouthbrooders so fry care is less of a hassle than with species that are egg-layers or prone towards eating fry as with alot of livebearers.
ok thanks alot man

10g is too small for cons. Get about six male and 12 female guppies. Change the water every two weeks and feed them a varied diet. The fry grow slow, and guppies don't get very large, so maybe not the best meal for a monster.

If you can upgrade to a 20L and go with dalmatian mollies- breed like rabbits. I have mine set up with a tank divider on one end to keep the parents out - give the little ones a place to get away. Also put in floating and bushy plants on the same side as the divider. So far from 4 females/1 male (yes need to do water changes every 3 days and have a penguin 200 plus a foam filter in the tank) I have got 40+ little one that I moved to a 10 G to grow out more. Mollies do make a good meal and with raising your own you can make sure they are healthy (way better than store feeders).

convicts have been my most successful breeding for feeders, but for the price of feeders and raising feeders...just buy feeders and use 10gal for quarintine. i breed two pair of cons and they produce quickly as long as your removing the fry once they are free swimming. but then the up keep was just too much for the size of feeders i really needed.

I say Mollies in brackish water. One male & 3 or 4 females will bust out fry like you wouldn't believe. The fry come out at a decent size (1/2") & grow very very quickly.

Just so you know, tilapia will be way too big for a 10g. A full-grown adult would have difficulty turning around.

Oh and don't try mosquitofish. I bred them successfully with a 20g, but with a 10g you would only be able to keep as many as would fit in a breeder box (they eat their young...quickly). I usually go out to a ditch and catch about 50 of them to feed my cichlids.
