Im guessing this is the right place I might be wrong. How ever I obtained two fish today for free. I know they are jack dempseys maybe even Electric blues. If they are I just hit the ball out of the park ;) Just need to confirm that they are electric blues cause they are huge :nilly:. Also how do I sex these things... Also what is the best food to feed these monsters to keep my pocket with cash and not in food lol.

The pictures are of them in 1 gallon zip lock bags for reference of size.

The first two pictures are of the smaller one. The 3rd and 4th pictures are of the bigger one.

not EBJDs but they look like blue gene jack dempseys to me, which is what are bred to make EBJDS

Yeah, that is what throw me for a loop cause they have the color of electric blue's but to me from what I seen EBJD have more blue in them then these do.

yeah, EBJD have the blue base color instead of brown. Regardless you just picked up a couple nice free fish :P

Agreed, the bigger one is larger than my hand and I have no idea what to feed these things and I doubt tropical fish flakes will work lmao

your best bet is to get them on a staple diet of pellets, i'd recommend getting them on hikari cichlid gold, relatively inexpensive and it lasts quite a while. Can be good to give em frozen silversides or krill once in a while too

NO WAY, you can't tell Blue Gene from a regular Jack, it is in their DNA not their colors. #4 has nice colors and too bad they are all males

really? I thought it was visual. good to know though

still the last one is a really good lookin fish haha

I figured they were both males or both females cause they cant be together unless they are divided cause they fight.

Thanks for confirming the sex though :). Also good info on the blue jack and regular. And I know #4 has nice colors its the same one in #3 , # 1 and 2 are the same fish.
