What kind of fish is this?

I was having a discussion with a classmate about fish we've owned, and she mentioned a striped fish she once had but couldn't remember the name. We found this image on google of the fish shes talking about but the site the picture is from didn't say what kind of fish it is. The name is on the tip of my tongue! What is this fish?

Ah these Leporinus...what a pain in ***! Owned three different leporinus in the past and sold them in short period, they are unsuited for community tanks.

She had originally gotten one from a local fish store, but it was sick and killed off the whole tank. That particular store has that reputation.
