what kind of fish?

i have a 55 gal. with 3 discus and a african knifefish what other fish could i have in there>?

I would say the list is sort because of the discus. I personal do not like anything with discus. Though rams and small tetras seem to work for some but you would have trouble with the knife eating them.

I have an african butterflyfish with my discus... It looks nice there, like a mini-arowana. And I think it's big enough to be knife-safe.

Maybe some cory-cats but I don't know what the knifefish will do with them.

african knifefish are fine and fit the bill for a peaceful fish, they only get 8 inches too.

some other fish you could have are:

-more discus
-tetras(a school of 7-15 small or 5-8 larger tetras)
-cories
-dwarf plecos, most wont bother discus
-cories
-senegal bichir(albinos look cooler IMO)
-either apistos(1m/2+f) or rams(1 or 2 pairs)

get some angelfish and some cory cats.

angelfish are to aggressive at feeding time and they can carry several diseases to the tank killing the discus...could i have 1 or 2 gold serverums?
