That picture is ... well... what a classic should look like.
The second photo (pale, smaller) is a typical shape and color for a younger fish. The original photo is of a big dominant male in classic shape and colour. I've bred these many times in the past. They do have a very high/wide head when they are mature. When young they are pointy-triangular head shaped.
Some of you mention the caudal spot looking a little weird. That is perfectly normal for an adult fish with some age. When young the white ring is vivid, but gradually washes away in some adults. And in the photo you *CAN* see the white ring. It's there.
Some of you may question the fish - but the owner can rest assured he has a gorgeous pure Urophthalmus. Haven't seen one that nice in years.
I think that the influx of FH's has caused more and more people to automatically start thinking hybrid if they see even a slight difference, but do remember that pure species do differentiate slightly from each other.
