But that doesnt really make a flowerhorn female, I have seen lots of adult male flowerhonrs with marks on the dorsaln fin

yup, you right thats not a full prof, because there's also a male have got a black marks on their dorsal fin, but most of the fh have mark on their dorsal are female. Even the body shape is also not a full prof. just take note all the people saying of fh sexing here is just guessing and not 100%, i believed they are all expert for this hobby and for takecare of the fh, but i believed also they all not sure for sexing unless they seen it in real and vent the fish.

its a male, females don't have such long dorsal fin?
I have a male with black spot on dorsal fin.

Spot in the top dorsal fin usually indicates female. It's not right in every instance but with zz's it's usually easy to tell.

Man, they get better fh's locally in Mexico than we do here in Michigan!!

Well, thats not totally true, you usually find here low quality flowerhorns, but I have my own supplier, wich also is a very good friend of mine and he imports Flowerhorns and many other fish from Thailand and other countries.

I also have a shortbody adult flowerhorn. :headbang2
Im just "preparing" him for the photos, maybe would be ready in a pair of months.
