Thank you!
Do you know if he will change colors or is that what he will always be?
I need to know his kind because I’d like to get him a female to either mate or have a friend.
he is currently about 6” and 1.5 -2 years old
They’ll get a 150gal if I can get him a wifey lol

That’s goo
FH like yours belongs to the golden base (GB) subline.
That’s good to know, thank you!
The retailer I purchased him from had no idea and thought he was albino.
so I would want to purchase a female GoldenBase Fader Komfa?

It’s a GB. Doesn’t look very kamfa.

You can match any GB FH or kamfa female for him. Kamfa is preferable, as they are healthier.
I had such a female kamfa, although she has a trait characteristic of FH.

you have a pretty fish!
And thank you, I will see if my retailer can get any of those breeds in.
My fish has been stressed the past week because I put a castle in for my 6” pleco to hide, but when he isn’t stressed his rear fins have a blueish/teal hue to them, it’s very beautiful

Sorry I don't mean to nit-pick but what do you mean by it having a trait characteristic of a FH? It is a FH, so I'm a lil confused on what ya mean by that.

Very nice looking FH ya got there tho. Great color and finnage. Ik this one here isn't a GB like yours is but this is my female ZZ Red Dragon fader for compairison. She's definitely no where near as vibrant in color as yours is but she does have some unique orange pearls here and there on her.

As for what OP's FH strain I would agree that it's a GB just base on the color degradation as ya go from that bright red head to more of a golden yellow tail. Also the color can vary from one day to the next with faders atleast until they get to the 6in mark roughly. Once it hits that size it tends to stay the way it is, usually not always but usually they will stop changing at that point. Mine here went thru about 4 major color changes before she settled on this look. She started out normal looking until she hit 1in and then suddenly turned bright white, afterwards she stayed that way till she hit 3in and then suddenly gained most of her original color back which she then quickly lost most of it within less then 2 weeks and ended up looking like this ever since. She is now 3.5 years old and a dwarf at only 5.5in, hoping to make copies of that dwarf gene at some point.
