I was interested in getting some Cherry Red Shrimp but was told that since they are small they will be eaten by my fish. I am really interested in getting some shrimp, but don't want them to end up being fish food. So the RCS are out. Are there any other shrimp that are big enough that they wouldn't get eaten by tankmates? I have a 130 gallon tank with 10 pleco's, 4 loaches, 7 angel's, 2 chinese algae eaters, 1 eel, 1 raphael catfish, 1 black ghost knife and 1 iridecent shark with live plants. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

you can keep RCS if you want just have alot of hiding places and just dont starve your fishes... however its more like gambling... have you considered about crayfishes?

They had these bigger shrimps at my LFS that were about 2-3 inches, but I forgot their name. They werent crayfish though. But soem of the fish you have will eat small shrimps, so I'd go with a cray fish.

I actually had an electric blue crayfish but he was going after the other fish. He actually killed a fire eel and an angelfish. I didn't want him to kill the more expensive pleco's so I gave him to my cousin who has bigger fish he wouldnt harm. I figured I would try shrimp since they are smaller and wouldn't harm other fish. I just didn't realize they were too small.

What species are these loaches, plecos and eel? Please remember loaches love to eat invertebrates so snails and shrimps are out of the question. Many crayfish are ambush predators and some fish like to eat crayfish so either the fish or the crayfish lose. You really cannot have any invertebrates in your tank. I recommend getting a small tank, preferably 20g, for your inverts.

Loaches - 2 Clown, 1 Dojo, 1 Angelicus.
Eel - Peacock
Pleco's - 1 Clown, 1 L-066 King Tiger, 1 L-091 Tri Beacon, 1 L-114 Leopard, 1 L-128 Blue Phantom, 1 L-129 Columbian Zebra, 2 L-134's Leopard Frog Pleco, 1 L-200 Green Phantom, the last one is either a L-202 or L-288.

All your loaches and peacock eel can target and harass any inverts to death. I don't think you'll have issues with your plecos though but unless you separate the others, you really cannot keep any inverts at all.
