WHAT KIND OF GAR PIKE ARE THESE?

I was sold these two fish as "Needle Nose Gar Pike", but I'm starting to wonder if that's what they are, since Spotted Gar Pike seem to look like them too.

Please help identify!

Also, is it normal for them to backtrack with their tail instead of just turning around?
