I have had my sony vaio desktop for 6 years now and the disc drives wont open etc. I want a new computer but a laptop would be helpful because I can use it on the job site. What do you guys reccomend? I am leaning towards a macintosh because I hear they have far less problems than PC's

Anyone? experience ? Insight ?

Get the new MacBook...

it's prettyy damn awesome

Macs are overpriced and overrated!

Apple computers are all x86 now. That means the hardware is the same as PCs. Apples are PCs. What your paying for is a streamlined machine, good standards, and the right to use OSX.

I would stay away from Sony Vaio laptops. The screen/connections on my first one failed after 3 years of hard use, my current one is doing the same after medium use at ~ 1.5 years, and the dvd laser in my wife's vaio stopped working, less than a year after purchase.

When I replace mine I'll be getting a MacBook, probably not the pro, and probably a new dvdburner for my wife's.

If you want a good value, look at Toshiba. I really like mine.

I don't like my wife's Mac.

If you game, you don't want mac of course. But if you are just using the computer for browsing online, general media playback/editing, and basic tasks, you will be very pleased with a mac. If money weren't a deciding factor, my next machine would be a macbook

I think im going macbook. Thanks guys :) I dont game or anything.

i never had a mac and just made the transition to a macbook 2 months ago. I must say its not the easiest change, lots of little differences can get frustrating. All in all though, I think the lack of viruses will make it worth the $. I hope :(
