What kind of Oscar

Been a little while.

Friend sent this pic of the two. The "little guy" from the original post is the plain brown one. Gets along super well with his tankmate and grows like a weed

How he looks now, so much different than what he started as! Any clue on species of Oscar? We are definitely thinking one of the wild varieties
