What gg from pfruy has said, the term diamond rhombeus, is just like saying you have a green civic, instead of just a civic. Same car, just color is different.
You can pretty much put any title in front of the fishes name that you want, super black straight back green rhombeus.... still will be a rhom
I know rhom is rhom, but when I buy a civic I'd still like to know rather I'm buying a green civic or a black civic
maybe the seller knows nothing about civic I end up with a civic Si for the price of civic LX

I've looked in homedepot and found nothing, wrong section maybe?? will try Lowes after work.the 4" rhom I have now is a wussy, don't think it can cope with the one I saw at lfs. that one looks like it'll tear anything that enters its tank apart.
is 6"-7" rhom at $80 a good price?

The LFS is called Scales Tropical Fish Warehouse. It's in Silver Spring, MD. I'm in the DC area.

They have over 600 tanks, and 200 of them are QT so only healthy fish make it to the retail floor.

They're all good folks. They actually know what they're talking about, and they have an in-store biologist that knows all kinds of stuff about fish. They have everything from marine angler fish to apistogrammas to a whole wall (YES a wall) of piranhas.
I went in the other day and the only rare stuff they had in the way of P's was a black mask elong around 5-6" in length, 6" eigenmanni, some snakeskin RBPS about 4", a few 14" piryayas, and a pristobrycon denticulatus. They also keep the obligatory juvenile RBP's, and Rhoms, and diamond rhoms.
It's like a MFK wet dream in there....

it's weird cuz the rear is painted and isn't rhom known for being curious and swim towards ppl that walk towards to tank??

my marg was up in a corner facing the rear at the lfs. Now he stares at you from under a mangrove decorations, and flares his gills, and opens his jaws in challenge if you so much as look at him. He's even banging glass like a red devil sometimes now. I wouldn't put too much stock into their behavior at the LFS
It's terrible that they put them in those tanks but they'll keep doing it. I usually only ever see a rbp when I visit a lfs in a state they are legal in.
