i think you should go ahead, cough up 80 bucks, and save the little rhom from his life in a jar...

where can I find those plastic egg crates? went to home depot by my house and couldn't find it. will try lowes next but which section do they usually keep it? does it have an other name?
dudey;2855639; said:there in the section with the light fixture covers. Like the big plastic sheets to cover flourecent light fixtures, they should be in that section, just cut it to your size.
I know lowes carries them, if you cant find them someone will know what your talking aout if you ask for an eggcrate

Making the trip and cough up $80 to get the fish aren't the problem. even making it pass my wife won't be an issue cuz she's never in the basement anyway, she won't even notice if I have more fish or not. the issue is my dad cuz my parents are here to help take care their grandson and he goes down to help feed and check out the fish all the time. I'll have to come up with a way of going below his radar.
he usually won't say anything but under this economic tough times, my dad will have a lot to say.![]()

"I traded <insert trade item here> for him to a guy that couldn't keep him anymore."
"What? You've never seen that one? Wierd... we need to take you down to the hospital and get your neuro function checked out dad. You're getting on up there you know..." <---works better if you're in the medical field trust me....
Oh what tangled webs we weave...in order to keep flesh-eating piranhas....
.
Sorry but that is not a good pet store, no lie. It is ok but not good I have got some fish from that place a few times. Most of the piranhs that thay have are sick.Diogenes;2854836; said:The LFS is called Scales Tropical Fish Warehouse. It's in Silver Spring, MD. I'm in the DC area.
here's a link to their webpage:

They have over 600 tanks, and 200 of them are QT so only healthy fish make it to the retail floor.
here's some info on them building the store and a commercial.

They're all good folks. They actually know what they're talking about, and they have an in-store biologist that knows all kinds of stuff about fish. They have everything from marine angler fish to apistogrammas to a whole wall (YES a wall) of piranhas.
I went in the other day and the only rare stuff they had in the way of P's was a black mask elong around 5-6" in length, 6" eigenmanni, some snakeskin RBPS about 4", a few 14" piryayas, and a pristobrycon denticulatus. They also keep the obligatory juvenile RBP's, and Rhoms, and diamond rhoms.
It's like a MFK wet dream in there....
