What kind of shovelnose is this??

Yeah the Planiceps is really hard to find over here in the US as well. Tigrinus and Juruense are easy to find but they range from about 100-250 dollars depending on size and both stay considerably smaller then the tiger shovelnose and planiceps species. The coruscans I believe has more spots than the tigrinum or fasciatum. I've heard closer to 4ft on the tigers and 5ft on the planiceps, and if you look in that picture of the 3ft tiger shovelnose in the background you can see a 4ft+ planiceps and there is a member on here that had one about 52" I think in a 50K gallon tank!!! The lima is the best choice for most people i.e. those with 100 gallon tanks or less. I've got one in my 240 as well and have been keeping Limas for about 2 years now. They are great fish and hunt in packs which is alot of fun to watch when they corner ghost shrimp or feeder fish into a corner and go nuts! The pic below is a coruscans, planiceps and a tigrinum in corresponding order I believe, and a pic of my lima shovelnose.

Doesn't look anything at all like a planiceps... the Planiceps is alot more slender and has a head to tail stripe pattern not a tiger stripe pattern. Attached pic at the bottom to dismiss any confusion.

Feeder rosy reds, goldfish, hikari predator sinking pellets, shrimp pellets and krill all work good for that size. I've got 2 baby tiger shovelnose right now in the 240 both doing fine on those foods. They get huge though close to 4ft, heres a pic of one of my babies about 5" and a 3-3.5 footer at an aquarium in Italy ~Trent

i was acually talkin about the shovelnose that started the whole tread sorry for the confussion.
