What kind of substrate do you prefer?

i liked the black sand i used to have my dempsey on but after the filters constantly pushin the sand away and showing the glass bottom of my tank it got on my nerves so i add in some small black pebble gravel and the sand gravel mix looks really cool

i got some small black pebbles comming for my 180...enuf to cover 25% of the tank maybe more... to keep the ph stable

I prefer natural river stone type gravel and black gravel,also a fan of bare bottom my25gal is this way.

Definitely a sand guy. Just standard play sand. I'll be adding some river rocks too thought to get it a little more natural looking.

I like dark colored small rocks.

small, natural gravel in most our tanks, and large pebbles in the shrimp tank...

Have always liked the looks of Flourite plant substrate from seachem.

Sands: Estes black and beige sand.
Gravel: basically any natural colored river substrates, rounded stones, pebbles, and pea gravel.
