What kind of synodontis is this?

You still have a good looking cat. Hopefully yours is more "outgoing" so you can admire him.

I rarely see mine :(

I can see the syno fine. The photo is standing up on its left hand side for some reason. When you view it right side down, the little lucipinnis (most likely; not petricola but I may be wrong) is easy to see.

Probably right on lucipinnis. They are EXTREMELY similar.

Sold as petricola. Hard to tell when they are less than 1/2" long lol.

Ya i finally rotated the pic and see it. Cute cat! Wish i had the right one. Any ideas how fast my mutt might grow? Or just a general pace in general

Hard to tell how fast they will grow. I had a s. Eupterus that hit 6" in like a year.

But these Lucipinnis are only 2.5"" after 2 years

Nows a good time to start a growth journal. Would be interesting to see rate of growth

Yes they are. I am no expert but I knew the chances of luci versus petri http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=40869#p278106 Good to see you are getting help from PCF. Richard B is one of the top notch syno experts among worldwide hobbyists.

It varies rather significantly. From ~2", I'd say 6" in 1-2 years, 8" in 3-5 years, 10"-12" max in 10+ years.

Holy cow thats a slow growth rate....no wonder the adult synos i see cost so much
