My lfs has a bunch of these. They are labeled as texas cichlids. Just wondering what type of texas exactly these guys are.

Sorry if pictures are not great.

How big they get? Good with 2 or so other aggressive cichlids in a 90g?

sure. I had 6 in a 265 with about 15 other fish. Males can get 12" but I havent seen the that big. Id say around 10 would be average..females around 8. Aggressive...but not out of control.

I was thinking about getting a carptintis ventehillo. For $4 do you think these guys would be better or a carpintis?

Stock will be female JD, salvini and a pleco.

Doesn't really make much of a difference. Carps and cyanos both look great as adults.

Cyanos are probably less commonly seen nowadays.
