it almost looks like a cane toad. it was $22.00 and is about the size of a palm of a hand. it was just labeled as toad. normally i dont buy things unless knowing about them but i figure i can post about it and figure everything out. its spending 95% of its time in the water bowl and i got it on tuesday. i have had frogs but never a toad. i thought toads were mostly terrestrial?

any care tips?

max size?

best recommended food? (hes a little too large for crickets. im thinking fish/ small mice.

also...i seen online people trained their toads to take 'dead'/ dry food as well.

From what I can see it resembles a cane toad but Iam not sure since the pics arent real clear.

I just saw those at a brand new pet store here in Everett. They called them Marine Toads.

it does look like a cane toad but we will require a better picture
like most amphibians do not handle often and make sure you wash your had extremely well after any handling as these guys have a very toxic poison that stops your heart if too much is ingested or in your system and make sure your other pets dont get in contact
other than that these guys make great pets and eat almost anything and a quick search on cane toad care wll bring you to plenty of info

I think marine toads and cane toads are the same species.

It doesnt look like a Cane toad in your pic.

lots of toads or mislabeled frogs do have some size on them like a small Bufo.

Does yours look like this ?

If yours is a Bufo they are very smart and will know you and dog tame .

However I dont know if an adult will become tame.

Yours will even eat food out of a dish like cat food, etc but it will take dead mice and anything it can get in its mouth. I have never seen a bufo go under water and take fish .

I think they like it dryer than not with just a water source and daily misting. They get freskishly big this one is small.

Can you post better pic.
