As the title says I’m looking to plant my established 180 gal tank. It’s about 24 deep and I was wondering what lights would work. Low tech tank with no Co2 so I don’t need an amazing light. Just something that would get the job done in a tank this deep and not cost me a few hundred bucks. Suggestions and pics of tanks that have used your suggestion if available. Thanks.

Finnex planted+ 24/7, though it will cost $200+. Finnex fugeray and fluval aquasky would be a little cheaper. If your looking for a looking to grow only anubias, a beamswork or nicrew would work, but I don’t think they will grow many other plants in a tank 24inch deep. Certain Flood lights could work.

I haven’t heard this one suggested yet. I’ll have to look into it. Have you used it?

I have nicrews and they work well enough for me. Aquarium co-op has finnex lights pretty cheap, I understand.

For a low tech plant don’t need anything too fancy. Most led lights should work. Finnex stingray led is a good choice. I have cheap led’s from amazon and it’s working.

i have some diy led strips on the tank now and just reading and talking to different groups a lot of people say the lights most likely aren’t good for plants so was trying to maybe upgrade. Don’t want to buy the light lol. But also don’t wanna buy plants and then they just die
