I have two Oscars and a convict in a tank. I have tried feeding the Oscar crickets and they love them and I only do that for maybe two feedings per week. What live foods do you use? Not really interested in feeder fish, just due to the fact that Petco's feeders always look like they have the plague. I haven't tried anything else besides pellets.

Back when I had my oscar I fed him a few tetras that weren't doing so well. That's the only live food I ever fed him.

Worms are great. I use just the red wrigglers or other similar sized earthworms. Nightcrawlers are really messy-seem to have more slime and dirt in them and are mostly water weight.

Mine loved any insects. Rose beetles, wood lice, mole crickets, worms, centipedes, normal crickets, wasps, small park town prawns (way to scared of the big ones to attempt to catch them), flies, flying ants (my fish really loved these), moths, meal worms, silk worms and hornets, those black cockroaches you find outside under rocks and old wood, spiders (but I like spiders and always felt sorry for them so this wasn't frequent) etc….
