the primary bass is the large mouth. I've never caught a small mouth in my life, that's not to say they aren't around here/

After the spawn is over throw a 1/4 oz white buzz bait and youll thank me after. If the pike are swallow you probaly wont want to leave the lake.
I've caught more bass on white crappie jigs than you would beleive. There cheap, pick up a pack. Also, red and white spoons of various sizes, and crankbaits, lipped to start with, go to bait shops and ask what the hot colors are. Notice I said color. In college, I was a semiprofessional fly tier. The fly shop owner and I did extensive feild testing, and determined that color and size was much more important than pattern.
First get some huckey jerks and rattle traps, and some top water lures like frogs and other bait that goes on the top.
