Being here on MFK has really made me start to think, "this is a website for hobbyist that enjoy keeping monster fish, but there are users on this site that also keep what most consider to be community fish." So the big question would have to be, what exactly makes a "monster" fish? Is it the attitude, looks, size, etcetera. Post what you think makes your fish a monster. Everyone join in, I want to see some perspective on this topic. :D

I'll start.

- Purple Wolffish: Looks + Attitude.

-senegal bichir: looks + oddball
-black ghost knife: looks + oddball

- angelfish
- discus
- tetras
- cories

Because I don't need no silly internet labels to make me feel macho.

Neither do I, I've kept 3 out of 4 on that list. Feeling "macho" isn't the point of this thread.

Now please do not take what I am about to say the wrong way as I keep many different kinds of fish.

I believe this is a forum that is wide open to everyone to enjoy and be part of. Should that ever change I would be one of the ones who would most definitely not let the door hit me on the ass on the way out.

This being said, some of the threads I have seen have given me the biggest and greatest laughs. Not because of anything to do with the fish keeper or their choice of fish, rather, to think of what kind of fish the threads have been about.

Now I am not going specifically point out any threads, suffice it to say I have honestly had to go to a different website because some of the threads have made my laugh so hard (all things considered it is a person who is genuinely looking for help for their fish problem that is for sure) yet, the oxymoronic nature of some of them has given me the biggest laughs.

Now what makes a fish monster?

I would have to say one of the primary qualifiers for me would be that the fish has to be predatory in nature and ability.

Non taken. I agree with your opinion.

EDIT - Why do my posts keep coming out twice?!
