Well, what exactly makes a monster. is it a mean temperment? the ability to eat anything? size? legality? rareness? etc. tell me what you think...

i think all of these could be monster traits, but mostly the size and temperment make a moster fish what it is.

i also think alot of what makes a monster is how the owner views the fish.

I think the best way to describe monster in MFK is;

Other than ordinary

Size first, but I think it has to be at least a predator. I mean, is a huge pacu or pleco really a "monster"?

What about small "oddball" type fish? Are they monsters?

I'd say it has to meet 2/3 of the requirements of: size, predatory nature, attitude

if a fish only has 1 of these things, then it can be debated on whether it is monster or not. i don't consider koi to be monsters.

There needs to be a good balance of size, attitude and appetite, IMO, to be considered a monster. My biggest fish are pacus, but they aren't half the monster that my 6 inch GT is.

There are a lot of areas that a fish can be a monster. It can be a monster regarding size, attitude, appetite, predatory behaviour, temperrment or how they are ranked in their own ecosystem. There are a lot of small fish that are the top of the pyramid in their ecosystem.
