Ihave a ten inch Large Mouth Bass in a 240g tank with a 24 silver aro.
Hes less than half the length but three times the width and belligerent as hell.I would have to say that hes way more aggressive than any oscar ive had.

I have a 14" albino channel cat.
I wouldnt have got him but someone had him stuffed in a 20 gal and i felt bad for him:(
Now i'm glad I got him....very very active grows like crazy (its only a little over a year old)
He just makes it hart to feed everyone else because of his elastic stomach:)

bluegills, shiners, perch

largemouth bass- has this fish for six years, grew from fingerling to almost a foot
easily the best fish i ever had

whats a good temp for a Chain pickerel

I have some bluegill from a pond down the street from me. They are really cool. I put some convicts in with them to see what would happen (I heard bluegill were mean) and sure enough the convicts were evicted. Scrappy little things.

I got some largemouth bass and some blue gill in my backyard pon. Have kept rock bass in tanks before and they are extremely aggressive, atleast the two I had. How do your bullhead fair when the temps heat up?

I have found that bullhead fry die at tempuratures as high as 78, not sure if it is the temp or amount of DO. Older bullhead seem to do better, minedoes just fine in the mid 70's.

USMC-- Pickerel IME seem to prefer temps on the cool side. Fishbase.org reports the following...

Esox niger (Chain Pickerel)
10 – 20°C

Esox americanus (Redfin and Grass)
26°C

I want to catch my very own pickerel. Sounds like something I'll try this summer to add to the big tank :)

anyone try keeping any smallmouth? That is one of the fish Iam going to try in the spring time
